✹    Během několika let získala obdiv od ostatních hudebníků, s jejími zkušenostmi z minulosti, včetně spolupráce s umělci jako Helado Negro, Prefuse 73, Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab) a Jason Trammel (Yeasayer). Nedávno otevírala koncert pro Donalda Fagena ze Steely Dan (B.: January 10, 1948), který byl tak zaujatý jejím výkonem, že spontánně požádal Adron, aby ho doprovázela další dva dny. Primární témata za jejími texty mají tendenci se zabývat obměnami mladé lásky, neurčitými dívkami a kluky emocionální intimity a nejistoty, které dlouho poháněly popové písně po celé generace, dokonce i ty nejslavnější evergreeny. Mezi nimi, “When I Leave You”, přechází nad morbidními sny o tom, co o ní mohou rodiče přítele říkat po tom, co se rozpadli, a to navzdory upřímné kytarové části. Další, “I Love You The Most,” popsala publiku jako „moje nová oblíbená píseň.“ Na jedné krycí píseň se páry pomalu tancovaly na konkrétní procházce. Její poslední píseň druhého souboru “Low Key” vypráví o dalším klukovi, kterého se zamilovala a odvážně lásku deklarovala, i když už měl přítelkyni. Když se jí Mark Gresham z artsATL zeptal, jak začala s hrou na kytaru a psaním písní, odpověděla: „Začala jsem hrát na kytaru, když mi bylo 12. Připadalo mi to velmi přirozené a začala jsem psát písně téměř okamžitě. Když mi bylo 14 let, objevila jsem hudbu Caetana Velosa a Os Mutantes, brazilských hudebníků, kteří jsou zakládajícími členy hnutí Tropicalia — bossa nova a další tradiční brazilské písňové tvary, rozemleté, zmasírované a rozmačkané až do šlichty díky Jimi Hendrixovi. Bylo to naprosto krásné a divoké, a naprosto mimovolně mě napadlo věnovat se tomu. K dispozici je také kytarista Luiz Bonfá, který mě zcela jistě uvedl pod mé vrcholné vlivy, kytaristu bossa novy, který je jedním z největších géniů vůbec. I nadále mě intenzivně zajímá a ovlivňuje brazilský sound. Jaký druh naděje můžu získat kromě toho, že si užívám nového prostředí? Je zřejmé, že mám kreativní a profesionální ambice. Mám pocit, jako kdyby všichni, kdo skončili zde, to dělají svobodně. Z toho, co jsem slyšela od lidí, žijících v LA, když máte aktivní a kreativní scénu k dispozici, můžete se spřátelit a rychle najít příležitosti. Zdá se, že žiju tak rušný a tak zaneprázdněný život a je tu tolik děje, že je nemožné nepadnout do klubka příležitostí, přátelství a hudebních aliancí, takže se na to opravdu těším.“
✹    Adron is a music~maker based recently in Atlanta, GA, and more recently in Los Angeles, CA. She plays guitar in a style influenced by Brazilians like Luiz Bonfá and Caetano Veloso, writes songs in a style influenced by Americans like Harry Nilsson and Margo Guryan, and sings in a style influenced by birds and decades she wasn’t alive for. ✹    Adron is rapidly being recognized as one of the most uniquely gifted songwriters and vocalists of this generation. Named Best Songwriter of 2012 by the Atlanta~based arts and culture magazine Creative Loafing, she has managed to unite audiences from wildly far~flung backgrounds, age groups and subcultural scenes with her universally communicative and infectious music. In a style nearly impossible to describe using the terms of conventional genres, she playfully blends Brazilian samba, bossa nova and Tropicália with Classical harmony, the sincerity and thoughtfulness of singer~songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson, and the full~bodied rhythms of 1970’s pop and r&b.

Though the music is effortlessly pleasing, it is Adron’s rare ability to meld genre, geography and musical epochs that reveal the true breadth of her talent.

✹    Adron recently came off her most impactful tour to date, opening for Donald Fagen of Steely Dan and performing at some of the southeast’s most respected concert halls. Adron has also collaborated with artists such as Prefuse 73, Helado Negro, The Shadowboxers, Francis & The Lights, and Little Tybee, and performed alongside other such historic talents as Os Mutantes and Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab. Her new album, “Water Music,” is due early 2018, to be accompanied by a rigorous tour schedule in the US and abroad.
✹    Based on the fairytale like imagery of Water Music’s cover, one could probably guess that this is no ordinary musical adventure. The album, out Friday, is a collection of sweet and sentimental pop that’s as dazzling and full of sheen as a pearl waiting to be uncovered on the ocean floor. Adron wraps her vocals in a cloak of whimsy, her striking soprano cozying up to your ear with its romantic, fanciful sweetness. As you’ll hear in the album, which we’re streaming today, and in the accompanying mix of inspirations, Water Music feels like a time warp, transporting you to a place where all your worries and stripped away, and the only thing you can focus on is the magic being created by Adron.
✹    During the writing and recording of Water Music, I was in a deep romance with the mid~70s, especially soul rhythm sections and keyboard sounds of the time. My drummer, co~arranger, boyfriend~at~the~time and still~best~friend Colin Agnew and I worshipped the drumming of Steve Gadd and many of the albums he featured on. I wasn’t wild about James Taylor but coveted his backing studio band. As always, I was obsessed with voices and achieving the most gushy, liquid vocal delivery ~ check out the Minnie Riperton track and especially the Emotions track, ‘Don’t Ask My Neighbors,’ one of the most delicious soul ballads I’ve ever heard. I was also obsessed with building the most perfect arrangement, trying to make room for all my favorite sounds in the musical palate but without overcrowding the composition. Joni Mitchell’s track achieves this, as (almost always) does her entire album Court and Spark, where these densely harmonic but agile songs get all this lush instrumental landscaping but the songs themselves aren’t (often) obscured for the sake of showing off, and her voice is always pure and in charge. Court and Spark, and Phoebe Snow’s 1974 self~titled album were pretty much constantly on rotation with me during the Water Music years.   ✹    http://www.thegreyestates.com/
