Ξ   Rocket Science is a new configuration featuring some of the leading lights of jazz and improvised music. Legendary saxophonist Evan Parker is one of the pioneering figures in the field of improvised music, with a history going back to the mid 60′s.
Ξ   Craig Taborn is one of the most unique and sought after pianists on the planet, recently releasing albums on ECM and collaborating over the past 20 years with everyone from Dave Holland to Roscoe Mitchell. Sam Pluta is at the forefront of electronic music both in composed and improvised settings, working both with the Wet Ink Ensemble as well as a wide variety of improvised settings (Peter Evans Quintet, ExclusiveOr, collaborations with George Lewis). Peter Evans is a trumpet player and composer who over the past 10 years has established himself as a leading light in the fields of solo performance, high energy jazz groups the Zebulon Trio, Mostly Other People do the Killing), and works for contemporary music ensembles.
Ξ   This eponymous CD is the first performance of the quartet from a short tour in Europe in 2012, recorded at the Vortex JAzz Club in London. Beautifully mixed and mastered by Sam Pluta, it contains a level of detail and shape both in the music itself and production rare for an album of its kind.

Rocket Science
Ξ   The eponymous debut recording from the quartet Rocket Science, recorded live at the Vortex in London. Rocket Science brings together four virtuosic instrumentalists: Evan Parker, Craig Taborn, Sam Pluta and Peter Evans. Together they perform an hour of intricate, dynamic and unusually beautiful improvised electro-acoustic chamber music. Each member of the group is widely recognized as having pushed the expressive boundaries of his instrument, and together they chart new paths of both refinement and sonic power for improvised music. Painstakingly mixed and mastered by Sam Pluta to bring out the detail and nuance of the music.
