♦ This collection of ten sets of lyrics, set to achingly beautiful melodies accompanied by a lively ensemble of guitar, bass and percussion, is Draper’s best album yet. Not one to pussyfoot around, she sings of the ills of today’s world, the pain of love, rejection, the uphill battle it takes to survive, the tragedy of misunderstanding. At the same time, there is a strand of hope that runs through these songs as she calls you not to be a victim, but to “keep your head up” and to “remember to put love in all that you do” so by the end of the album, when she sings “the star is the needle, the light the thread, use that to patch up your heart again, make it as good as new,” the listener is filled with hope that our ills can be healed. (By Baleine)

ABOUT:
♦ WHILE GROWING UP IN A MUSICAL HOUSEHOLD WITH PARENTS AND SIBLINGS WHO ARE ALL MUSICIANS (HER FATHER IS A CLASSICAL GUITAR VIRTUOSO WHO STUDIED WITH ANDRES SEGOVIA), BROOKLYN BASED LINDA DRAPER LISTENED TO EVERYTHING FROM BACH TO “BOP” FROM AN EARLY AGE, SOON MOVING ON TO THE CHURCH CHOIR AND THEN TO WRITING HER OWN SONGS AND PLAYING GUITAR AS A TEENAGER.
♦ IN 2001 DRAPER RECORDED HER DEBUT LP “RICOCHET” WITH PRODUCER/INDIE MUSIC ICON KRAMER (LOW, GALAXIE 500). THEIR PARTNERSHIP CONTINUED WITH HER NEXT THREE LP’S. HER DEBUT LP ON PLANTING SEEDS RECORDS, “ONE TWO THREE FOUR” WAS MET WITH RAVE REVIEWS. IN 2007 SHE CO~PRODUCED HER NEXT LP “KEEPSAKE” WITH MAJOR MATT (OLIVE JUICE MUSIC). M MUSIC AND MUSICIANS MAGAZINE PROCLAIMED: “WITH ALL OF THESE SONGS — POP~ROCK SPARKLERS INFORMED BY THE KIND OF EDGY COUNTRY AND CLEVER FOLK BELOVED BY NPR SUBSCRIBERS — MOVEMENT CARRIES RISK, BUT IT BEATS STAYING PUT.”
♦ AS HER CAREER AND MUSIC CATALOG DEMONSTRATE, “STAYING PUT” IS NOT SOMETHING LINDA DRAPER LIKES TO DO. HER MUSICAL PATH HAS LED TO TOURS THROUGHOUT THE US AND UK. SHE HAS PERFORMED IN FESTIVALS SUCH AS CMJ, FOLK ALLIANCE, CAMPFIRE (CAMBRIDGE, MA), THE ATHENS POPFEST (ATHENS, GA), AND SINGER SONGWRITER OF CAPE MAY, NJ. THE PRE~PRODUCTION REHEARSALS CAME IN VERY USEFUL.
