•≡• Pearl and the Beard are Brooklyn trio Jocelyn Mackenzie (vocals / percussion), Emily Hope Price (vocals / cello / keys) and Jeremy Styles (vocals / guitars). The three passionately intertwine three distinct voices amidst a powerfully delicate orchestra of cello, guitars, keyboard, bells, and percussion, offering songs that speak to joy and sorrow, love and loss.
•≡• The breadth of their songwriting and genre–defying sound is reflected in the vast variety of other artists with whom they've shared the stage, most notably Ani DiFranco, Matt & Kim, Ingrid Michaelson, DeVotchKa, Lucius, Laura Marling, Avan Lava, and The Drums.
•≡• The trio are currently in the final stages of producing their third full–length album.PRESS:
•≡• “Sweetness indeed! Sweet, indie, folk pop! We love it!” — Perez Hilton
•≡• “A joy to listen to… Pearl and the Beard make something you never thought to ask for, but find that you no longer want to live without.” — Paste Magazine
•≡• “They transcend genre. It’s indie folk music, but it’s also infused with blues hollers, the occasional jazz riff, and a deep passion for the material.” — The Boston Globe
•≡• “Neverland’s got nothing on the whimsical world constructed by Pearl and the Beard. The N.Y.C. based trio carries listeners on their backs through a DIY dreamland that is unpredictable yet safe and warm like the comfort of one’s own bed.” — Bust Magazine_____________________________________________________________
