Notes: Nearly every song was co–written by Wavves’ Nathan Williams and Cloud Nothings’ Dylan Baldi, with the exception of Williams’ “Such a Drag” and Baldi’s “Nothing Hurts.” It was released via Williams’ label, Ghost Ramp. Produced by Williams’ brother Joel, No Life for Me has all the lo–fi punk tendencies from both artists’ individual bands, but the sound is noticeably less snide than Wavves’ most recent album, Afraid of Heights — probably a result of Baldi’s more conventional vocals. Stephen Pope and Brian Hill of Wavves play bass and drums on the whole album, respectively. ★Ξ★      Nathan Williams of Wavves and Cloud Nothings frontman Dylan Baldi officially announced their collaborative album back in March, but we knew that a release was kinda–sorta imminent a year before that. No Life for Me was recorded and produced by Sweet Valley (Williams and his brother Joel) in Williams’ Los Angeles home during two sessions between 3/16–3/26 of last year and 6/1– 6/10 of this year, and though an earlier version of the album’s artwork noted Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij as a collaborator on the song “I Find,” that track didn’t make the final cut.
