        ^{Deep Sea Diver — Secrets (February 19, 2016)             °¬° If you know only one thing about Deep Sea Diver it’s probably because of Jessica’s time as the guitarist for The Shins where she regularly stole the show (I can confirm this first hand) and became widely known as an absolute guitar shredder. Secrets is fueled by Jessica’s guitar from the sweet opening riff of Notice Me, her unique stabby style where she literally strikes at the guitar like a bolt of lightening leaves distinctive scars all over the album. Her other traits of blasting in with a sour note or bending a chord out of shape also contribute to the album’s raw untethered feel, that guitar could and does strike at any moment. Jessica puts on a guitar shredding clinic for 45 minutes that lets up for just the briefest of moments in songs like the dreamy Great Light, or the surprisingly gentle ballad of New Day.}
