Electric Light Orchestra — Secret Messages (5 June 1983/3 August 2018)
Proč to není zahrnuto? Waaaa. Hlavní píseň začíná podivnými efekty a maskovaným hlasem (říká welcome to the show), po němž následuje výbuch kódu z Morseovky, který vysvětluje ELO, něco, co Jeff Lynne dělal před 10 lety na téma Ocean Breakup / King of the Universe na albu On the Third Day.

Description:
♠     This 2LP release adds six tracks to its running order, all available for the first time on LP. Equally flush with cutting~edge synthesizers as well as up~front guitar mastery, Secret Messages is quintessential, world~class techno pop~rock. Jeff Lynne’s eclectic collection of self~written, self~produced songs (including the international hit “Rock ‘N’ Roll Is King”) ranges from raucous to romantic, all the while maintaining ELO’s peerless musicianship.
♠     From this original print, images from various works of art were inserted (covering mot of the grass) and a pair of windows were added.
♠     From comparing the print for sale on their website to the ELO album cover, it appears that the print used for the ELO album cover was before the hand and the jets were added to the print (or were removed for the ELO cover).
♠     This version tinted by Terry Day for B&H Photography competition.
♠     Original version for LP cover ‘Secret Messages’ Electric Light Orchestra.
♠     This version commissioned for a calendar entitled ‘The Future’. The art director didn’t like the old car, a Vauxhall Vellox which was in the original version so I said I would cover it up, putting my hand over it on the print.
♠     He was somewhat surprised upon seeing the finished picture that I meant literally adding my hand. The full title comes from the addition of the two fishes on the sidewalk, or pavement being Rochdale Lancashire UK, which I had lying around, the negatives not the fish.
♠     The original version was designed by David Costa of Jubilee Graphics, later Wherefore Art, for the LP cover ‘Secret Messages’ by Electric Light Orchestra. The foreground contained figures from classical paintings and was hand tinted by Kim Harris.
♠     You can see a small portion of the car mentioned above, below and to the right of the members of the band in the second floor windows.
♠     One time I left my umbrella at a gallery opening — it started to drizzle and I had to go back. It changed my life. Casual decisions can have a dramatic effect on our experience. The future is unknown, the past we quantify for our own satisfaction. It’s not that the grass is greener, it’s that it’s green.
♠     Disputes over royalties led bassist/vocalist Kelly Groucutt to leave the group in 1983. He eventually received an out~of~court settlement of £300,000. Groucutt died of a heart attack on 19 February 2009, aged 63.
♠     No longer unhip: Jeff Lynne and ELO give the crowd exactly what they want. CREDIT: DAVID MUNN
‘Secret Messages’
1.) A moving stream of information
That is floating on the wind
The secrets never end
And now they call,
They sing, they play, they dance
For you, from out of the blue,
What can you do?
[Chorus:]
2.) The secret messages are calling to me endlessly
They call to me across the air
The messages across the atmosphere
They whisper in your ear, they’re calling everywhere
3.)
Where words cascade like rainbows tumbling from the sky
Then I’ll be there, I’ll be there
When messages will call to you their secrets all around
Without a sound, they're all around
[Chorus]
4.) Those secret messages that spill into the air from far away
So far away
A flowing river of illusion running with confusion
Never gone — it goes on and on
[Chorus]
