A tak zřejmě nejlépe hodnoceným albem JB ve Státech zůstává “Hold Out” (#1) a “Running on Empty” (#3), v UK pak “The Pretender” (#26). Jackson Browne získal  6 velkých ocenění, z nichž vyzvednu dvě: v roce 2002 obdržel cenu Johna Steinbecka, určenou umělcům, kteří jsou příkladem ekologických a sociálních hodnot, kterým Steinbeck věřil. A dne 7. června 2007 Jackson Browne byl uveden do Songwriters Hall of Fame.
♦π♦   World in Motion is the ninth album by American singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1989. The album took three years to complete and makes statements about nuclear disarmament and the "secret" government that brought forth Oliver North and the Iran–Contra scandal.

AllMusic Review by William Ruhlmann;  Score: **
♦π♦   Jackson Browne continued amassing a repertoire best suited to an Amnesty International benefit on his second highly politicized album, World in Motion. War, homelessness, and Oliver North (though not by name) were condemned; freedom, truth, and Nelson Mandela were praised. Now and then, Browne drew parallels between the personal and the political, notably in the double–edged "Anything Can Happen," but for the most part he sermonized, frequently adopting the generalized terms and reasoning that sermons usually employ. Except for the gloomy viewpoint, it was hard to recognize the Jackson Browne of his first few albums amid all the commentary, and even if you agreed with his overall political stance, that was disappointing.
