About:
Jazzvocalist Karen Vrijburg collided with jazz early in life. It ignited a lifelong journey of free exploration which she describes as “a long and turbulent but very satisfying love affair” with music. Based in the Netherlands, she lives an unusual blend of working on several projects close to her heart as well as writing and playing music. She lives with her family near the coast of the North Sea.
Karen occasionally performs in the Amsterdam area.
About the album: As her own musical ideas began to take shape, she set aside bigger pockets of time and space to finish her own material. This led to the production of her debut album “Listen To a Stranger” (2014). She regards the producing of this album and working with eight great jazz-musicians as a huge adventure and a dream come true.
