φ Stanley Jordan (electric guitar, piano),
φ Kevin Eubanks (acoustic guitar, bass, piano, electric guitar, acoustic steel & nylon string guitars, keyboard vibes)
• Multifaceted guitar heroes Kevin Eubanks and Stanley Jordan have created a serenely seamless 10–song album of duets — spontaneous compositions and passionate arrangements that will send listeners' imaginations on a series of hypnotic journeys.
• This impeccably balanced album includes four spontaneous arrangements of well–known classics: "Nature Boy," "Blue in Green," "Summertime" and "A Child Is Born"; plus interpretations of modern pop songs (Adele's "Someone Like You" and Ellie Goulding's "Lights").
• The album brings together Eubanks, the Philadelphia native who took New York by storm starting out in straightahead jazz clubs then progressive albums for contemporary jazz giant GRP Records and the legendary Blue Note Records, frequent collaborations with cutting–edge bassist Dave Holland, then 18 years in Jay Leno's The Tonight Show Band (15 as Music Director) where he played with seemingly every meaningful musician across genres. With Jordan, the Chicago–born/Bay Area–raised phenomenon who mesmerised audiences with his instantly identifiable "touch technique" on guitar beginning with his gold-selling Blue Note Records debut 'Magic Touch', followed by a string of wide–ranging endeavours including a one–off for Clive Davis' Arista Records and explorations into the field of music therapy.

φ Kevin Eubanks has gotten his jazz groove back since stepping down as "Tonight Show" band leader in 2010. On "Duets," he teams with fellow guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan for an intimate, relaxed session that's more spontaneous than over–produced, mixing jazz standards, contemporary pop tunes and original compositions.
φ There's a much richer palette of instrumental colors than one might expect. On Thad Jones' ballad, "A Child Is Born," Eubanks' gospel–flavored piano playing blends well with Jordan's trademark "touch technique" on electric guitar in which he taps the strings with both hands. On Miles Davis' "Blue In Green," Jordan turns to the piano while Eubank plays electric guitar. George Gershwin's "Summertime" is a solo spotlight for Eubanks who overdubs acoustic guitar and bass lines to engage in contrapuntal playing with himself.
φ Their electric guitars take on almost voice–like qualities in a moving interpretation of Adele's hit "Someone Like You." On Ellie Gouldings' electronic dance pop hit, "Lights," the guitarists bring out the nuances of the hauntingly beautiful melody as they delicately intertwine their guitar lines.
φ Opening and closing the CD are two original tunes — "Morning Sun" and "Goin' On Home" — that are pure guitar duets full of spontaneous interaction. Though this is the first recording together for these two musicians who've been friends since the early 1980s, Eubanks and Jordan display a special chemistry, complementing rather than competing against each other. :: http://news.yahoo.com/
