→  16. března 1968 zabila armáda Spojených států přes 500 neozbrojených civilistů ve vesničce Mỹ Lai ve Vietnamu. Nepředstavitelná brutalita události zasáhla všechny, kteří ji byli svědky z první ruky, včetně pilota vrtulníku Hugha Thompsona, který proti rozkazu zasáhl, aby zachránil vietnamské životy. Thompsonův příběh je základem opery Mỹ Lai, kterou složili Jonathan Berger (hudba) a Harriet Scott Chessman (libreto) pro Kronos Quartet, vietnamskou multiinstrumentalistku Vân~Ánh Vanessu Võ a zpěváka Rinde Eckerta. Tato definitivní nahrávka Mỹ Lai zachycuje viscerální, fantasmální zobrazení Thompsonova smutku, hrůzy a viny, když je pronásledován trvalými vzpomínkami na onen kataklyzmatický den, půlku světa a téměř čtyři desetiletí časové propasti ... daleko.
→  „Napjatá a nemilosrdná Mỹ Lai je „strhující záležitostí, od začátku až do konce“ (New York Times). Představený je zde spolu se vzpomínkami vietnamského přeživšího Trần Văn Đức. Je to památník všech vesničanů Mỹ Lai zabitých toho ponurého dne.
