♠   On July 22, 2014, Del Rey told Complex that she was planning to reissue her third studio album, Ultraviolence (2014), with new songs. In early January 2015, Lana Del Rey announced that she was going to release an album entitled Honeymoon sometime that same year. During the time of the announcement, Del Rey also said that she had recorded nine songs that could possibly be featured on the album. Del Rey said in an interview with Billboard that the album was “very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die (2012) and Paradise (2012). I finished my last one in March and released it in June and I had a follow–up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good.” During the interview, she also announced that she was covering Nina Simone’s "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". The song "Music to Watch Boys To" was also confirmed during an interview with the Los Angeles Times. Del Rey stated that she was "looking for a few more songs to tie everything together." In December 2014, Del Rey stated to Grazia magazine about how she wanted to introduce orchestrations with monumental choruses with a touch of subdued grudge for the album. Earlier that month Del Rey also mentioned to Galore Magazine that she was already at the recording stage for the album. "I'm also always writing small pieces for independent films etc. Dan Heath and Rick Nowels are two of my dearest friends and producers and we are always up to something." It was previously reported that producer Mark Ronson had collaborated with Del Rey for Honeymoon, but it was later revealed that their writing sessions did not produce any music for the album.                                        Release and artwork:
♠   Del Rey announced the album's release date, September 18, 2015, through social media, The picture that accompanied the release date showed a billboard with the as–of–then unknown album cover, which depicts Del Rey riding a StarLine Tours convertible car, wearing a T–shirt, sunglasses and a red with black–and–white stripes hat.
♠   On August 20, Del Rey announced the tracklist for the 14–track standard version of Honeymoon via her Instagram. The artwork was officially revealed the next day as the album became available for online pre–order. Unlike her previous album covers for Born to Die, Paradise and Ultraviolence, the typeface used for the album title is not the same as the one used for her name. As an exclusive to retailer Urban Outfitters, the vinyl edition of Honeymoon includes an alternate artwork, which depicts a close–up of Del Rey surrounded by a frame that states her name and the album title in a red color typeface.
