Album Notes:
¶  Debut Album from Lockets featuring the singles Catch Me and Camera Shy.
¶  "..a delicate display of affection, elevated high through warm layers of sound. Think if Beach House and Memoryhouse got together. It’s the definition of dreamy music done right." – WE ALL WANT SOMEONE TO SHOUT FOR
¶  "..fully worth 35 minutes of your time, along with however many $$$ they ask for when it's eventually, inevitably, pressed to wax. Features classics such as Bitter Teeth and Catch Me earlier on, before moving onto newer material - it's all beautiful. Dive in." – LOST LOST LOST
¶  "Imagine an innocent, fledgling My Bloody Valentine jacked up on a whole Halloween’s worth of candy .. Lockets are truly blossoming into one of 2012′s finest new bands. " – CRACK IN THE ROAD
¶  "..classic dream-pop at its best; heart-melting vocals, hazy instrumentation and twee synths - a winning combo." – THE 405
¶  "Lockets make music that sounds like people falling in love.." – JUST MUSIC THAT I LIKE
¶  "..some things are made more concretely ostensible; with each new song delivered by Lockets, vocals are silkier, guitars are sleeker, synths are dreamier, and beats are catchier." – HEARING GOLD
¶  "..when you get into the depths of Lockets' sound, you realize you’re wide awake and catching every subtle distinction that makes up their sound, like catching snowflakes on your tongue. It’s fun, you feel like you’re in a movie and it doesn’t happen very often..If this is what dream pop has become, I’ll take two please." – GLUTTONY IS THE NEW BLACK
¶  "Lockets is the kind of band that you can't hear everyday. This Philadelphia dream-pop duo's beautiful, ethereal melodies and mesmerizing vocals somehow reminds me of The Cocteau Twins which makes the whole listening experience so much sweeter. The beauty of their music lies in the simplicity of it and that's what makes it so wonderful. " – AGAINST THE ODDS
¶  Philadelphia-based duo Lockets have released their first single, “Camera Shy,” a song reminiscent of music you might expect to hear from a dream-pop act like Beach House. Lockets seem to have mastered a wonderfully romantic lo-fi sound that only gets better with multiple listens. Their debut album will be ready in 2012, but in the meantime, fall into one of those dreams you won’t want to wake up from with the euphoric “Camera Shy.” – pigeonsandplanes.com
¶  The Philly bedroom-pop duo, Lockets (aka Todd Mendelsohn and singer Dani Parker), released their new record, “Camera Shy”, today via digital format. The band tested the waters a bit with a couple of singles posted earlier this year, “Bitter Teeth” and “Treasures You Lost” — which you might have listened to and read about on Their Bated Breath. “Camera Shy” is a pretty blend of gauzy synth, and Parker’s luscious, candied vocal tones. “Treasures You Lost” is certainly one of the standout tracks with its rippling melodies, that begin with the lead vocals and work their way outward into romantic guitar swells and a tangle of bright synth. But underneath the pop and catchy exterior is a sad sort of nostalgia that coats everything in its mood-lighting. The feel of the record is dreamy, ethereal, musically abstract, but it also pushes with passionate purpose. This is a record for fans of bands like School of Seven Bells, Phantogram, or Memoryhouse. The record may not have dark or shrill moments, but it’s hard not to be hooked on a song as pillowed and precious as “Crush”, with its light haze transitioning into the swirling rhythm of keyboard and deep bass tones. It’s a record that exists as part daydream, part half-light of the heart. You can follow Lockets at facebook. Look out for a vinyl release of “Camera Shy” coming out later in the fall. – David D. Robbins Jr. – THEIR BATED BREATH
