♣   Sweet Insomnia is filled with the emotions that keep us awake at night: The excitement of leaping into the unknown, the joy of falling in love, worries about family and friends, or the nervous voices that whisper us awake from dreams. And these songs kept singer–songwriter Stephanie Forryan awake for other reasons as well: Most of the album was recorded in the wee hours of the morning. But the sleepless nights were well worth it; the rich production and colorful songwriting reflect the lively inner workings of the artist while the tenderness of her performances is captured in fragile webs of vocal layering.
Album Notes
♣   Stephanie’s debut full–length studio album bursts with emotional energy and exceptional musicianship. Her international band takes her simple, rugged songwriting style to the next level.
♣   Some call Stephanie a singer–songwriter. She thinks of herself as a song–hunter. Perhaps her rugged approach to the profession came from her rural New England upbringing.
♣   Barefoot on the back porch was where she “found” her first song, letting her fingers wander the neck of an old acoustic guitar. She started stalking simple folk songs but quickly wandered into Rock and Pop territory. Her journey soon led her to Berlin, Germany, where she officially launched her music career.
♣   Stephanie soon became a frequently featured writer in Germany’s most popular Singer–Circles. Her “tender yet ferocious” performances led to songwriting collaborations, tours and television appearances with some of Europe’s most talented artists.
♣   In 2015 Stephanie returned to her solo career with an online concert series, live performances, and her debut solo EP: Dreamer.
