The Lefty Collins band brings together four musicians that have over 60 years of experience playing live shows with a variety of different groups. From frat houses, to roadhouses to the big stages around the country, this group plays with the seasoning that only live performing can bring. The band features 4 responsible, professional musicians that show up promptly and get the job of rocking the house done right!!
The Lefty Collins Band represented the Magic City Blues Society at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in February of 2011 and will be back again in Memphis from Jan. 31st-Feb. 4th,2012 to again compete in the IBC.
Singer/Guitarist Lefty Collins has been one of the house musicians at The House of Blues in Chicago for 14 years. He has performed over 500 shows there. Lefty has opened for or shared the stage with Buddy Guy, BB King, Chris Isaac, Styx, Bad Company, Jimmy Buffet, the Lee Boys, Otiel Burbridge, Smokin Joe Kubek,Tommy Talton and many others.  30 years of honing his skills in the blues clubs of Chicago and on the road have made him a top flight live performer.
Bassist Barry Wasserman has a mainstay of the Birmingham, Al blues circuirt for over 25 years and is anchoring the botton end of the LCB with razor sharp precision.  Barry started playing in 1962 on the upright bass ,and has mastered classical thru rock.  He is thrilled to be playing rocking blues with the Lefty Collins Band
David Green began his percussive studies at the age of 9. David has played in marching bands, concert bands, jazz bands, orchestras, wind ensembles, All State Orchestras and show bands. He has shared the stage with many talented musicians such as Mark Wood of the Transiberian Orchestra and played in venues like Carnegie Hall. His influences include Tony Royster Jr., Thomas Pridgen, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich, and many more.
Andrew Brasfield brings a strong and passionate voice on the Harmonica and also adds some touches of backing guitar as well as killer stage presence and enrgy to the LCB fold.  Andrew picked up the harmonica at the tender age of 16. It started with being introduced to the new school harp players and after digging a little deeper Andrew discovered, and was further inspired by, the old school players like Little Walter, Junior Wells, Howlin' Wolf, and more. Andrew has been blowing harp for 15 years and sitting in with various bands around Birmingham and Tuscaloosa for about 10. Realizing a harmonica player with some guitar skills would be a selling point he picked up an acoustic about 10 years ago and has been playing it ever since.Looking at the Sky in Band shots by
