White Denim — In Person (Aug. 23~25, 2019)
→ „Před několika lety jsme koupili starý dům ve východním Austinu a začali tam nahrávat,“ vysvětluje James Petralli o původu Radio Milk and In Person. „Asi o rok později jsme postavili jeviště na zahradě a začali pořádat hudební akce. Rychle jsme si uvědomili, že jsme měli výjimečnou schopnost zaznamenat tyto ukázky s nízkými náklady na dvorku s mimořádnou věrností pouhým spuštěním dlouhých kabelů ze střižny dovnitř do jeviště v zádech. Po všech těch letech účinkování po celém světě máme pocit, že jsme vytvořili nahrávku White Denim, která správně zachycuje energii toho, co děláme na jevišti.“

℘ White Denim unveiled their debut live album, In Person, via the band’s new Radio Milk Records imprint. In Person was recorded at White Denim’s Radio Milk recording studio and backyard stage in Austin over the course of three nights in August.
℘ The 65~minute, 23~song set shows off the band’s current lineup of founding members guitarist/vocalist James Petralli and bassist Steve Terebecki as well as more recent additions keyboardist Michael Hunter and drummer Greg Clifford. Flutist Alex Coke makes a cameo on “River 2.” In Person was engineered and mixed by Petralli and Terebecki and Jim Vollentine.
℘ In Person pulls heavily from the last two White Denim albums: 2019’s Side Effects and 2018’s Performance. The quartet also reaches back for older material and performs the unreleased track “Yu Wanted 2.”
℘ “A few years ago, we bought an old house in east Austin and began making records there,” James Petralli explains on the origins of Radio Milk and In Person. “A year or so later we built a stage in the backyard and began hosting music events. We quickly realized that we had the rare ability to record these low~key backyard shows with exceptional fidelity simply by running long cables from the cutting room inside to the stage in the back. After all of these years performing around the world we feel that we have created a White Denim recording that properly captures the energy of what we do on a stage.”
